North Dakota? Really?
You might be thinking the same thing I did: “How could an ad agency in North Dakota benefit casino clients outside of North Dakota?” Before accepting my new position as Business Development Director for KK BOLD, I asked the same question and needed some reassurance in terms of what the agency could bring to the table. For KK BOLD, the next logical step in increasing their casino portfolio was to open an office in Las Vegas. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, so I have been exposed to the casino industry my entire life. In fact, after graduating from UNLV, I moved away from Las Vegas specifically because I did NOT want to work in a casino and that seemed to be the only industry with jobs for a recent college grad. So I moved to Kansas City – and ironically ended up working in the marketing department of a riverboat casino. From that job, I learned several things about myself: I loved conceptualizing promotions and I enjoyed creating an experience for the consumer the minute they walked in the door. Eventually I moved back to Las Vegas where I worked as a Marketing Manager for American Casinos & Entertainment Properties. Through my casino experience, I have learned all about branding as well as the importance of player acquisition, retention and recapture.
